We actually don't allow these random chat topics.. they tend to be a great hiding place for the evil monster that is spam!
They also are a quite difficult to navigate. 
If you are looking to chat with some new people, you can make a thread in Introductions (if you haven't already done so), telling a bit about yourself and that you'd like some people to PM you and become friends!
You are welcome to start a new thread, provided it is on a specific topic of interest e.g. dogs or mobile phones etc.
