Pause Tamagotchi Friends

Help!, i'm trying to figure out how to get to the travel channel on my Tamagotchi Friends so i can pause it. It seems they removed that feature which leads me to asking how do i "pause" my tamagotchi? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

It's actually holding A and B (first and second button) together. A and C turns the sound on and off.
