I was babysitting my brother one day
We were running in the park
We were just deciding what to play
When I noticed it was getting dark
My dad should have come back at six 'o' clock
But it had already reached half past ten
I couldn't go back - the door would be locked
I had left my phone in the shed.
The park keeper came back with a lock
And told us it was time to go home
He locked the park gate shut
And we were left alone
It was to dark for me to see my brother
And that is how he ran away
I didn't see him slip off in the black of the night
I didn't see him the next day
I got someone to phone the police
I got the police to phone my dad
When he got back, all that he said
Was that my babysitting was bad
He seemed to be heartbroken
But not quite to the degree
That he was writing every night
Welcome home letters at half past three
But, the police searches were succesful
And after a couple of days - three
My brother was returned, and I gave him
Those welcome home letters.
