Easter; the Real Meaning

Wake up, wake up

It’s time, it’s time

Wake up, wake up

It’s time, it’s time

We awake to the sweet chocolate bunny

And little trinkets that are funny.

Jellybeans, peeps, and more!

Everything galore!

But do we really forget?

Will we remember before we regret?

The way Jesus died for us

We must remember; we must!

He rose again after three days

For are sins he continues to pay.

He rose up to show them all

That he really was the king of all.

But do we really forget?

The day all our lives changed,

The day everything came crashing down

Do we really remember...

What ever happened to moments of silence

Or mentioning it

Can we all say we remember....

the day terriousts came

and knocked down the american hope

Time

Time is a book, empty

Waiting to be written word by word

Page by page, chapter by chapter,

And novel by novel...

Time is a clock ticking away

Second by second, minute by minute,

Hour by hour and day by day.

Time is a movie

Waiting to be filmed

And before you know it, it is over.

Time is a leaf

Starts young and healthy

And eventually falls away dead and weeping.

Time is a crayon

New, good, and whole

Till it breaks away to nothing.

Time is a puddle

Full and so wet

Till it evaporates into thin air.

Time is money

A lot at first

Then less and less

Must be spent wisely before gone.

Time is a song

Almost complete then you…

Hear the last note and you…

I have another one!

Hero

He was like God in Khaki shorts,

No one thought he was a dork,

Many thought that he was cool,

Few thought he was a fool

He was generous, nice, and caring,

And we all knew he was daring,

Doing things we'd never do,

Like climbing mountains and snorkeling too,

Climbing up to the highest peak,

To turn one rock and see what's beneath,

Being in nature was his thing,

While most of us wanted to act or sing,

Being a hero to all,

We were shocked and upset when he took his fall,

His grand finale,

wasn't grand,

But he died, a very great man,

Getting in situations we'd never want to be seen at,

or in,

I was a huge fan of his, so I am soooo sad he died. I made this poem for him, and we had to write a poem for reading class, so this is the one I will be reading!
