Question about V5.5 Pause feature

I was wondering how the Pause feature in V5.5/Celebrity works.

I hear that it's a bit different compared to the previous versions. I was just wondering if it's still a true Pause that stops anything from happening to your Tama (hunger, unhappy, death, etc.) or is it different?
