When it's on your tama it lasts until your tama goes to sleep, but if you're asking about it staying in your inventory it stays until your tama dies or you reset it.

[2] If you use it, your Tamagotchi will not take it off until it goes to bed. (bedtimes vary from Tamagothchi to Tamagotchi)
