7/10 This is my favorite poem of ALL TIME! I found it in the book "chicken soup for the kids soul" The author is Dayle Ann Dodds

I found a tiny starfish

In a tide pool by the sand.

I found a tiny starfish

And put him in my hand.

An itty-bitty starfish

No bigger than my thumb,

A wet and golden starfish

Belonging to no one

I thought I would take him

From the tide pool by the sea,

And bring him home to give to you

A loving gift from me.

But as I held my starfish,

His skin began to dry.

Without his special seaside home,

My gift to you would die

I found a tiny starfish

In a tide pool by the sea.

I hope whoever finds him next

Will leave him there like me!

And the gift I've saved for you?

Is the best gift I can give:

I found a tiny starfish,

And for you, I let him live. :)

I'm so glad my[this] topic has worked out, and people actually are posting in it.

Here's mine:

'Does he love me?' I think every day,

How can the world go on this way?

I walk down the ashy sidewalk past his house

I feel the urge to ask him, but now I'm as quiet as a mouse

I know he must have feelings for me,

But now, I doubt that, as I look toward the sea

I felt something special when we were together,

But now I feel split, now and forever

I start to walk home, and soon I see

A precious rose left on the doorstep, maybe for me

Along with it was a note that said,'From me:Your Love'

I know it was from him, but it seems like it's from above

I write a thank-you note, and drop by his street

When he answers the door, I say,'Your so sweet'

He says,'Your my life, my all'

I tell him,'But first, can we go to the mall?'

I don't want to say 'hi'

I have attuide problems

Plus, i don't know what rhymes with that.

Someday, I might disappear.

But I don't care.

I don't wanna be Snow White

I don't care.

I don't care if I break my toe.

I don't care if I punch my own nose.

Cuz someday I will be all gone.

My heart skips a beat,

A feel a tingle in my feet,

I studder and stare,

But all I can see is her hair,

She flips it around,

Making not a sound,

I know it could never come true,

Just me and you...

Un-named

The moon, it shines so bright,

We watch intently and gaze with wonder.

We wish to dance upon it,

We dream to take flight in the middle of the night,

But what wonders does it behold?

Is it an illusion?

A hallucination?

A delusion?

Alas, only few shall know,

Those who explore.

If it is an illusion,

We can believe it's there.

A night-light at bedtime.

The dominant of the night sky.

A finishing light of night before sunrise.

Mine's a Haiku, so maybe I should put a brief description of one...

Haiku- A form of Japanese poetry, made up of three lines. The first and third consist of five sylables(sp?), and the second consists of seven sylables. They are usually about nature.

Here's the poem:

Winter arises,

The sun sets for the last time,

Everlasting night.

Sweet!

I know what haikus are, but I love haikus. They're so simple yet beautiful.

Bananas are good.

Beautiful when uneaten.

I want to hug one.

I know, I'm not in the writing mood. :D

9/10 Sweet!

Snowflakes tumble down,

From a beautiful white sky.

So intricate, so delicate.

They lace the tree branches.

Some melt on our snowsuits,

While others pile up

Making a team of deep snow,

Glistening, alighting.

It makes me feel guilty,

Trudging through its shining completion,

Ruining the natural feeling.

For I am a mere human,

Not nearly as kind, graceful, or divine as the snow.

I know, it's the same as my signature...except my signature wasn't big enough to have the middle verse.

6/10 It is really pretty, but not my kind of thing.

From day one I talked about getting out

But not forgetting about

How my worst fears are letting out

When breathing just passes the time

Until we all just get old and die

Most of the friends

I make

Blow away, in time, with the wind

But some stay

Through good and bad

I made this like a year ago, it's kinda short though.

When I dream,

It's of you

When I think

It's of you

When I stare,

It's at you

When I'm hurt,

It's from you

Can't you see I love you?

I can't stop saying,

It's not true,

But in my heart,

There's only room for you. <3

A forest set ablaze by fire,

Vivid flames of firing beauty,

Said to destroy everything in it's path,

But they are wrong,

Even if...

Animals frantically flee,

And trees perish,

When its over,

And there is nothing left but ash,

Slowly,

Life comes back,

Animals return to their homes,

Trees slowly arise back up from the ground,

Stronger, Greener, and more Beautiful than before.
