Have you come across too romeo and juliet? I think only year 6 learn it...

Lots of schools study plays by Shakespeare in the UK (Romeo & Juliet, Macbeth, Much Ado About Nothing .... (depends which plays are selected to be part of the Curriculum)

Sometimes from around Year 5 or 6 (Primary School) - but more usually in Year 7 onwards - where it is analysed in depth as part of Literacy/English Literature studies.

In the UK, the groups go as follows:

Year 4 = 8 & 9yrs old

Year 5 = 9 & 10yrs old

Year 6 = 10 & 11yrs old

It is normal to start a new (Secondary) school for Year 7 (11 &12yrs old)
