So I finally got a friend (woo-hoo), but I have very bad self esteem problem. They seem to have very fun with me, but I can't stop feeling it's for pity or they hate being my friend, do you ever get that feeling? Also I was giving them food today (a lot), and I said "oh yeah, I eat a lot when I get home" and they're response is "how do you eat a lot and you're skinny?"

How can I really tell if it's for pity or if they really like me as a person? Or if they're using me?

If that would happen to me then I would just ask them ''do you actually wanna be my friend?'' or something similiar. And sure, they may respond with ''Of course'' when they actually dont like you. But try to get to know them more. Ask them questions about themselves. You never know, you might share some of the same interests and that may influence your new friend to actually like you.

Hope that helped,
