Which type of screwdriver is required to open a Tama-Go?

Phillips head screw driver. Just a smaller sized. You can pretty much eye it when getting one.

People say that, but, for some reason, mine refuses to come off.

I doubt the screw could be broken because it's new but be careful not to strip the screw. Worst comes to worst bring it to a jewelers and they can open it for you without breaking anything.
