"Mom, why can't I get that doll?"asked Tammi, who was only a child that didn't understand that her and her mother were very poor.
"Tammi, we just can't afford that right now,"replied Tammi's beautiful mother, who was a mimitchi. "We can't afford alot of things."
You see, Tammi and her mom, Aerona, lived in a very small house with Aerona's parents and four siblings, Uncle Tad, Uncle James, Uncle Terano, and Aunt Elise, who were all mimitchis (except for Aerona's parents, who were old timers).
"Fine!"screamed Tammi as she ran away from her "mean" mother who wouldn't buy her the Tama~dream Doll. "I hate you!"
Tammi ran and ran, until she reached her house. Then, ahe waited for her mother to come home.
She waited a long time...
"RINGG!!!"went the phone.
Tammi answered it.
"Hello?"said Tammi.
"Are you Tammi Gotchson?"asked the voice.
"Yes,"said Tammi.
"Well, I have some news concerning your mother. She was hit by an automobile. She is in the hospital."
"What?!!"screamed the young tama. "Will she be okay?"she said frantically.
"We don't know for sure yet."
