Your tamagotchi was probably animating. TamaTown is a online place where you can visit your parents and gradparents. You can also buy food and other stuff.

There you can get items, souvenirs, gotchi points, and play games with your tama.

Though not much is up yet, there is still quite ammount of stuff to do their.

 

Also like Mimtichis has said,

your Tama must have went up to the screen by one of the many animations your tama can do.

 

They explain it at Tama-Zone quite well.

Or, your tama could have grown older.

I think it got older becuz if it was animating it would have stoped by now (it's been over 2 hours now)
