•31/Jan/12 - *Mini-Update*

To start, I had an unexpected late night visit and overnight stay at the hospital this weekend and in the days following have been trying to regain my energy. Due to this, Duck was placed on pause during that time as I could not take care of him and did not want him to face the same fate as Pond.

He is doing well, obviously still a Kikitchi and still with our first Hexagon letter "N". There is not much more to report since he has not gotten the chance to advance.

Also, I will more than likely be updating on him in about a day or two because I also have a custom order deadline for my shop, so once that is finished, then Duck will be back in the spotlight. Since he has been paused, we will just be picking up where we left off.

• Day 10 - 2/Feb/12 *Present Day* (Picking up where we left off after a 6 day pause)

After the big question miss, we decided it was a good idea for some food for comfort...

180px-2012-01-26_17.00.54.jpg

...or protein, Duck was thrilled to dig into his new can of tuna! (Hmm, guess bananas aren't really a monkey's favorite ;) )

Since Duck was so high on calories, he wanted to put them to good use...

180px-2012-01-26_17.01.41.jpg

...don't be fooled, I know it appears he was working out, but when I pretended not to look he just stood there meditating.

To burn off his testosterone spike, he begged me to take him to the park...

180px-2012-01-26_17.04.42.jpg
180px-2012-01-26_17.04.49.jpg

...and we ran into that funny little mouse again. They chatted for a bit, threw their hands up and then out of nowhere began doing double dutch! Duck had all sorts of fancy moves... who knew?!

• Day 10 (Part II)

When we returned back home from the Park...

180px-2012-01-26_17.05.38.jpg

... I thought perhaps trying for a fortune might be a yummy idea.

As Duck scarfed down the last few crumbs...

180px-2012-01-26_17.05.47.jpg

...tah dah! We got our fortune!!

And you know what that means...

180px-2012-01-26_17.05.54.jpg

...yep, another quiz question. Duck is looking irritated here because it was my turn to answer and I was apparently taking too long and cutting into his T.V. time.

Doo dah doo dah doo dee doo...

180px-2012-01-26_17.06.02.jpg

... uh yah, Duck was supposed to pass me the answer sheet, but ate it instead... so yes, we got another one wrong... hungry little monkey!

In an effort to salvage the mood, I offered Duck some more cookies...

180px-2012-01-26_17.01.12.jpg

... this was him being belligerent... soooo spoiled!

At least that's what I thought, until I realized...

180px-2012-01-26_17.07.31.jpg

... all the cookies I had forced him to eat had given him a tooth ache... is he crying?! Umm, monkeys aren't supposed to cry... what a baby!

But, once we took him to the dentist, it was pretty serious he had to get a root canal... (well, didn't I feel like a meanie?)

180px-2012-01-26_17.07.50.jpg

... Duck was feeling quite better, while my wallet was feeling quite worse after the $2000 bill! ...Heh, what a parent wouldn't do...

So our day comes to an end. Off to bed for Duck with some pain killers and antibiotics... tomorrow's a new day ;)

*A quick note:

Thank you to kutchipatchi.is.blue55 for reading and following my log, I hope that you are enjoying the journey. And the same goes for everyone out there who votes and/or just stops in to read. Providing a fun and cool read is what I'm striving to do and fellow members giving feedback help to make that possible... so BIG THANKS guys!

*A side note:

Recently, a member PM'd me requesting that I log about my Yuki Penguin. I hadn't actually thought of doing that, but I was flattered by the interest and intrigued by the idea. Since I am still a newbie in the "logging" department and tend to get overwhelmed easily beyond running more than two VPs at a time, I've decided that once my participation in the 2/2/12 Groundhog's Day Hatch has ended, then I will begin logging on my Yuki! I will probably start up a separate log on it so as not to mix/confuse it with this one... so stay tuned, more to come on that soon ;)

• Day 11 - 3/Feb/12 *Backtracking*

Yesterday Duck morphed his way into Nonbiritchi, what with how the last week has gone and all, I wasn't very surprised, but he was showing some improvement from his dental ordeal. Starting off the day we went out to check on a previously planted tree...

180px-2012-02-04_11.48.42.jpg

...thus setting the stage for the rest of the day... how depressing!

Duck was a little upset, to say the least (these things don't grow overnight), so we took a stroll to the park...

180px-2012-02-04_13.52.47.jpg
180px-2012-02-04_13.52.54.jpg

Little stinker took off in a furry... and there he is waiting at the park for me to catch up to him... apparently I was taking too long (hence the irritated look on his face).

While he was waiting on me, a visitor came to chat with him...

180px-2012-02-04_13.53.08.jpg

...of course they hit it off and became instant friends! Duck just has that winning personality, ya know?

Since they were having so much fun jumping around I decided to go off on my own and leave Duck to it...

180px-2012-02-04_13.53.46.jpg

...but when I returned I found him like this, so sadly :( I guess his new friend had abandoned him... I should have never taken my eyes off him.

Arriving home, I figured it was time to check up on his Mental state after how the day was turning out...

180px-2012-02-04_13.55.12.jpg

...and to my utter amazement, Duck had somehow gotten another letter! While I had gone off on my own adventure at the park, the game show host must have shown up and Duck got the question right!!! Hmm, I wonder why he didn't tell me, probably wanted me to be surprised... I think I've said it before, but what a little genius I have ;)

So, despite how the day had started out, thanks to Duck and our big payoff... it ended pretty fantastically.

• Day 12 (Letters 'G' & 'N') - 4/Feb/12 *Present Day*

Today Duck wanted to continue on with his attempt at letter capturing, so he chose the theater... I think he must have gotten a lucky hunch because...

180px-2012-02-04_13.57.04.jpg

... we bumped into our most favoritest person of all!

As we all know by now, that leads us to a Hexagon Letter question...

180px-2012-02-04_13.57.16.jpg

... hmm, Duck looks quite stumped here, eh?

Well, that was an understatement...

180px-2012-02-04_15.49.15.jpg

... aw well, we can't get em all. I admitted to him that it was just as much my fault since I hadn't paid for him to take those Japanese lessons.

In situations like this, I usually try to perk up Duck's mood with a surprise...

180px-2012-02-04_13.59.04.jpg

... so I dug out his most loved CD... Celine Dion's greatest hits!

Thankfully, the lull of her voice seemed to calm him down...

180px-2012-02-04_14.02.19.jpg

...awwww, he looks so peaceful just sitting there listening to Celine.

Then, out of nowhere, something strange happened to his little boombox...

180px-2012-02-04_13.59.12.jpg

... a weird crackling interruption came through. As you can see, Duck was slightly irritated that his Celine was being interrupted.

As we continued to listen, a strange voice broke through and we knew what was about to happen...

180px-2012-02-04_13.59.17.jpg

SURPRISE! The strange voice, which could only be the game host, blurted out a quiz question!

Duck was begging me to answer this one, but I told him he'd do just fine and that I had faith in his intellect...

180px-2012-02-04_14.00.34.jpg

... a slight err in judgement on my part, Duck obviously hadn't a clue what he was doing and flubbed on our chance at another letter.

Luckily, he still had his boombox...

180px-2012-02-04_14.12.05.jpg

...and his Celine! Needless to say, he cheered up in no time ;) Is he blushing?! Oh, I'm soooo showing this to his friends!

And so the good news to all of this was that Duck kept his spirits up and knew that tomorrow would be a new day... but I think we may have to buy him a new CD... because someone managed to play that one until it broke

• Day 13 (Adult) - 5/Feb/12

Another lovely morning waking up to special moments with Duck...

180px-2012-02-05_07.42.06.jpg
180px-2012-02-05_07.42.38.jpg

Uhhhh hahaha, are you kidding me?! Who's gonna clean that mess up?? Apparently not Duck! I really thought he was old enough to go to the bathroom on his own by now, after all, he is an Adult... (real cute how he tries to hide and act like it wasn't him)

So after that little fiasco, you could only guess what was next. I mean, what was I supposed to think, he's filthy and the room is covered in poo... was he playing in it?! Ugh gross!

180px-2012-02-05_07.42.56.jpg
180px-2012-02-05_07.43.02.jpg

Without a moment of hesitation, I scrubbed and showered him down, and Duck was back to his sparkly self... well, sorta... he's beginning to become more and more of a grump in his old age, just like his Uncle Pond. And eww was that bath water filthy when we were done... I don't even wanna know what was in there!

I thought it would be fun if we bundled up in comfy clothes and just curled up on the couch to watch some old movies .... Lol, but Duck had a better idea...

180px-2012-02-05_19.30.56.jpg
180px-2012-02-05_19.31.51.jpg

...a "let's get sick, throw up everywhere, and cause my caretaker even more stress" idea. Boy oh boy was I excited, everyone loves cleaning up vomit. What a really bad day for Duck... he cried every time he had to take his medicine too :(

After I gave him some time to rest up and get back on his twiggy legs...

180px-2012-02-05_07.52.57.jpg
180px-2012-02-05_07.53.17.jpg

... I thought going to the theater and hanging out with his friends was a good way for him to start feeling better. Though when he was on stage, he did get that look on his face like he was going to ralph again...

Luckily for us (and by us, really I mean me) that didn't happen. We made it home just in time...

180px-2012-02-04_21.21.11.jpg

... to get Duck's sickly little tree head to bed... how awful, he was so worn out and weak. Sunnier days tomorrow big guy ;)

With any luck he'll be able to shake this bug that's got him by tomorrow, cuz he needs a wife! I just hope I can find him one that doesn't mind an adult male that craps on the floor :kuribotchi:

• Day 14 (Adult) - 6/Feb/12

We were on our way outside to check out our tree this morning when something strange happened instead...

180px-2012-02-06_12.12.39.jpg

... we ended up on the other side of the house with some strange apparition. I can only assume this was a snow sculpture of some kind, Duck was happy to see it though, but where did our tree go?!

At any rate, since Duck was feeling much better from his 24 hr. bug, I wanted to take him around and have some fun...

180px-2012-02-06_12.10.35.jpg

... first we stopped at the park, and of course, he made another new friend... he's so popular ;)

The fun didn't stop there, I had more excitement for Duck up my sleeve...

180px-2012-02-06_12.11.32.jpg

... oh yah! Amusement Park time!!!

Duck ran to the first ride that caught his eye...

180px-2012-02-06_12.11.38.jpg

... it appeared to be some sort of Haunted House?

After what happened next, I'm pretty sure I was right...

180px-2012-02-06_12.11.42.jpg

... loud, shreaking, girly screams came from inside the one eyed monster's mouth... "Duck! Are you alright?!"

I waited and waited for some sign that he was okay...

180px-2012-02-06_12.11.47.jpg

... finally he appeared from the abyss, sobbing. I don't think he'll be going on that ride again :(

After that traumatizing little experience I took Duck home for one of his favorite pick-me ups...

180px-2012-02-06_12.13.45.jpg

...YUM - MEE!!! No complaints from Duck, though the chocolate did make him a bit gassy

Hmmm, after eating the "Love Chocolate", it seemed to throw Duck into some sort of romantic trance... but I wasn't sure exactly what this meant...

• Day 14 (Part II) - Marriage?!

With the weird and sudden reaction Duck was having to his "Love Chocolate" I wanted to keep an eye on him to make sure everything was okay. Unfortunately, parents get busy, other things come up and you just can't watch 'em all the time. When I checked in on Duck, the house was empty!! He was gone and I had no idea where my little Nonbiritchi had gone!

I decided to go out and search the town for him hoping I might find a clue and I was shocked when I finally found him at...

180px-2012-02-06_12.15.21.jpg

... the MatchMaker's?!

When I followed after him inside...

180px-2012-02-06_12.15.53.jpg

... to my surprise they were already discussing the details of his potential mate... OMG, was he ready?!

And just like that the MatchMaker sent out Duck's dream girl...

180px-2012-02-06_12.15.33.jpg

...eh, Sebiretchi? Duck wasn't the least bit impressed and quite frankly neither was I... he deserved better.

Onto the next Bachelorette please!

180px-2012-02-06_12.16.02.jpg

Hmmm, Furawatchi? Was she meant to be Duck's soulmate?? ... he does look quite smitten :)

After much anticipation...

180px-2012-02-06_12.16.23.jpg

... the deal was sealed!! Duck was finally tying the knot with adorable Furawatchi!! "Nice catch Duck ;) "

After the lovey dovey moment had passed, the real fun began...

180px-2012-02-06_12.16.41.jpg

... oh yes my little Duck-ling, the joys of being a parent... he looks so excited...

After getting used to the idea of being a Dad, Duck started to warm up to the little guy quickly...

180px-2012-02-06_12.16.47.jpg

... aww, look at him bonding with his new son.

Slowly, I think Duck was getting the hang of this new parenting thing...

180px-2012-02-06_12.17.00.jpg
180px-2012-02-06_12.17.05.jpg

... as I caught him covering up the sleepy baby, I knew he was going to make a great new Dad :)

I couldn't wait to see what was next for this budding Father and Son pair!

• Day 14 (Part III) - Baby!

After some lunch I checked in on the new Daddy and his baby boy...

180px-2012-02-06_12.17.34.jpg

... but Duck was nowhere to be found, he had abandoned the new baby! Some men just can't handle responsibility. And the poor little thing didn't even have a name yet.

Once he woke up, it was pretty clear that his Dad wasn't coming back, so I decided on his name, of course taking his father's as his surname...

180px-2012-02-06_12.17.42.jpg

... welcome to the world "Wild Duck".

Since Wild was so upset that his father had walked out on him, I thought maybe the Celine Dion CD might cheer him up...

180px-2012-02-06_12.18.58.jpg

... uninterested, he turned away, guess he and his father don't have the same tastes.

Then, I knew something that would definitely make his day... and mine!

180px-2012-02-06_12.20.22.jpg
180px-2012-02-06_12.20.27.jpg
180px-2012-02-06_12.20.43.jpg

Ooooo Hexagon toy time!

Which leads us to our first and most easily obtainable, letter N!

180px-2012-02-06_12.21.09.jpg

And also a much happier Wild.

Such a great start to the new little tyke's life... but we all know they're never fully satisfied ;)

• Day 14 (Part IV) - Remodeling

Well, after one thing, a baby always wants another...

180px-2012-02-06_12.22.13.jpg

... strangely, what Wild wanted was an interior decorator... not food?! What kinda babytchi is this?

Inside, he began, so articulately I might add, asking the carpenter all sorts of questions about designs & colors.

180px-2012-02-06_12.22.18.jpg

I was curious to see what Wild had in mind... looked like a pretty in depth discussion!

Finally after all the kinks were worked out...

180px-2012-02-06_12.21.51.jpg

... Wild revealed to us all exactly the design he was after. How earthy, I love it!

But, as surprising as it may seem...

180px-2012-02-06_12.09.32.jpg

... the father who had walked out on him hadn't left him much to get by with :( "It's okay Wild, we'll find a way to get you your much needed remodel!"

And so it was time for us to get out there and make some dough to fund Wild's expensive tastes!
