Mametchi lay on her bed. It was night. At this time, her ears were short and flabby. She thought she drifted off to sleep.

Where am I? she asked. She looked around. She saw large oak trees. The ground under her feet was marshy. Beware of the Teribinth the wind seemed to whisper. Mametchi shook her head. She told herself she was just hearing things. The marsh started to get softer. She seemed to start to sink in. "Help!" she yelled. But for some reason, no voice seemed to come out. She woke up, shocked. It was morning. "Phew." she said, relieved.

She went out for her house and went through a trail through a small wood behind her house. She walked a little. and then she saw the think brambles in front of a mysterious trail in the wood that no one went in. She gave a small chuckle. Mametchi went over to the brambles and cleared them to the side so that she could go to the path. She went in.

Mametchi looked around. It looked very similar to the scene in her dream, except this time it was more realistic. This time it also was mixed with maple trees, along with the oak trees. A chill went down her spine. It was also creepier than her dream. She suddenly heard the warning in her dream. Beware of the teribinth. Onather chll went down her spine. She warily traveled around. This part of the wood was thicker than the regular wood.

Suddenly a low branch from a maple tree caught on one of her ears. She yowled and ran off. She smiled. A tree didn't injure her. She happily went on. Suddenly an oak tree seemed to reach out and grab her by the softest part of her ear. She wondered if she could get away. She tried to scramble away. Another branch caught onto her other ear. She keppt trying to get way. Her ears were tugged on with much pressure. Teribinth. The word surged through her mind. Another branch still on the tree placed onn her head; it was thick. Vines coiled her stretched ears around the branch. Suddenly, everything let go, and she wisked away from the forest.

Her ears were put up straight. She didn't know what to think. She was breathless.
