toddler family importance?

I have a V4 and my baby girl went through these stages:

toddler: mohitamatchi

teen: ichigotchi

adult: ponytchi

I thought the mohitamatchi (that's the baby with the mohawk) was in the kuchi family but the ichigotchi and the ponytchi (the humanoid one with the ponytail) are in the meme family. Does it matter what family the toddler is from? Is it random?

I have a male mizutamatchi now, is there no way of predicting what adult I will end up with?

I think the toddler stage does not realy matter, as in you can get any teenager from any toddler, once it becomes a teen it is in one of the three familys, this chart might help. https://www.tamatalk.com/IB/index.php?showtopic=99281

Well, I believe the kids belong to groups, but unlike the teens which can only turn into their group and universals, they can become anything. Mohitamatchi has a best chance of becoming universal, and Harutchi has best chance of Mametchi, I don't know about Mizutamatchi and Petitchi.
