V4 HELP

I just got a V4 and when I try connecting it to another V4 it just says ..X fail X.. Should I try exchanging it for a new one or am I doing something wrong? My V4 is at the toddler stage and the other is an adult, but that shouldn't make a difference I thought. When I go under the heart icon, I select V4 and the other tama has V4 selected also. Should it be "others?" I'd greatly appreciate some help. ( I am starting to go a little out of my mind.)

Sometimes after you connect too much, the FAIL sign comes up (i don't know why). Try pressing download. Another reason could be that one of your tamas is running low on batteries. It doesn't have enough energy to connect, so it says FAIL. Hope I helped!
