Was anyone here around for the first batch of tama

I was in 5th grade when they came out, I believe (I am a junior in college now). I had a tamagotchi angel in 6th or 7th grade... I'm curious if anyone on here was into them back then?

The reason I got into them (recently) is because my little brother (he's 7) got one and then he begged me to get one so he'd have someone to connect with.
