What are you doing to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Tamagotchi?

I'm definitely getting caught up in the hype, and I'm tempted to buy one of the pretty remakes of the P1 Tamagotchi, despite my temporary moratorium on buying more tama's for myself. *shakes my angry wallet that's clutching the down payment I've saved so far*

I know should just boot up my V1 or something or buy another P2 if I REALLY want a vintage style one because I enjoy the minigame more, but it's that FOMO you know? Maybe I should just do a livestream or something

I started up a rerelease P1 recently so that's kinda my anniversary fun :3 I want to buy something new but IDK, I also shouldn't be spending any more money right now lol. I wanted the Magic White On but it's sold out T_T I might just grab the Pac-Man since that's kinda cheap

The pac man ones are the only ones ever left at game stop I keep going in hoping they'll have new stuff in stock but barnes and noble has the remakes

It’s my birthday today and I have more new tamagotchi’s than you can shake a stick at I even decided to get a Pix despite reading the bad reviews as I saw the pink one was discounted and I also had some credit card points saved up. I got it for $7! I figured at that price I wouldn’t feel bad if I disliked it. So far I’m liking the Pix a lot though. I haven’t played with it a ton yet, but the touch buttons don’t seem to bother me. That back battery cover was a doozy though. I had to search up how to open it. I felt like I was going to break it. Does anyone know: do you ever see the profile photo you take on the Pix during setup again? I looked around a but but I couldn’t find it yet.

I think that I'll be hatching my current-favourite Tamagotchi, which is a Sunset design Tamagotchi Original Gen 1.

I can hardly believe that it's been 25 years - I can still remember when they came to the West in 1997!

I love my Pix; I'm nearing the end of my 3rd generation and still enjoying it quite a bit. I did have problems with the battery cover too. I'm using a 3mm flathead to unscrew it, I just kinda did trial and error with my screwdrivers. Is there a better option do you know?

And yeah I don't think that picture ever comes back up. I've explored the device pretty thoroughly and haven't seen the picture once.

I decided I'm going to do so on my livestream tonight! ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ And the pause feature is great but I remember reading over a decade ago that the pause feature excessively drains battery. ヽ((◎д◎))ゝ

Omg right? I was maybe 4 years old when they first dropped! And ahhh, so cool! You'll have to share pictures!

I took the screws out entirely. They come off like the Nano tamagotchi, albeit a touch easier. If you aren't worried about losing the back cover this could work; I keep my tamas in my handbag and they get bumped around a fair bit, cover hasn't once popped off unintentionally.

Yes, this is true! I ask for permission to shoot whenever possible and generally try not to cause trouble.

My replacement Anniversary Smart arrived this morning, so really, the party just keeps going over here
