Debugging is when you open up the circuit board of the Tamagotchi and alter it a little. Basically you just make some pencil marks in a circle labeled "debug". But it's not something I recommend doing. If you debug, you run the risk of breaking your Tama.

Debug mode is a sort of factory test mode. It's not something you're meant to use, but since Bandai didn't disable it, some people try it out.

Debug is to get into the tama's circuit by screwing off the back of the tama, and with a pencil or something thin and pointy, you trace a circular part of a certain circle on the circuit.Once you debug, you have to choose which tama you want and is kinda like a free action replay. But beware--If you mess around when youre circling the circuits circle, and touch anything you shouldnt, your tama can be broke up forever. Also note that even debugging may mess it up.But heres some good news, you get certain tamas that arent available in the regular version.Heres a guide to it if you wanna know how to debug from pixelmood-

Hope I helped :D
