Is this design a version 1 or version 2 tamagotchi?

I think that it's a version one... but from what I've just seen, both the v1 and v2 have the same egg shape minus the antenna piece at the top.

Well, I've been no help at all... look for the v1 and v2 paint jobs, the waves of released shell designs, and match your tama to one of those

Yes, it is most definitely a V1. My brother has that exact same design. His is a battery eater though; batteries only last a couple days in his Tamagotchi. It's so bad that he doesn't play it anymore.
