can someone please explain to me what karma is?

and also, why does it take like 80 posts until it says youve made like 30?

If it says you only made 30 posts, you probably have, and it just feels like 80. I know, it feels like I've made one thousand! Karma is a measure of how well you behave and conduct yourself on the site. Be nice and follow the rules to avoid bad karma.
