What's up with my P2?

I have just got a P2 in the post today, and I have this unusual problem with my weight. It's just staying at 5lbs. Can anyone help?

old tamas have that glitch!!! my 1997 oridgnal tama is the same!!! it wull stay at 5 lbs at babt stage but at totler stage it will be better!!!

This isn't a "glitch," it's just the way the ancestor Tamagotchis were programmed. The baby (the blob, Babitchi) remains at 5 lbs until it evolves for the first time.
