Sorry I can't answer your specific question, but I can give you a tip on how in increase your chance of passing the audition: activate the door icon (upper right) corner, and select AWAY. If your character is a teen, you'll see her band attend a lesson, then begin playing a tune together. It's a game. You have to press the button(s) corresponding to the notes that appear on the screen. After 30 correct presses, they'll make a happy sound. This game increases your band's bonding. Play this game 3 or 4 times, and they should be able to pass an audition.

to add onto what binary said, i think it'd also be helpful to raise all of your skills (Tone, Rythm, Orignal) to 999 each by playing all of the Music Games.
