Please do not post 2 times after your question hasn't been answered.

You only punish a tamagotchi if it beeps when it shows nothing and needs no more Meals or Snacks to keep it from it's Starving point and it's unhappy point. Punish it when it beeps and nothing is wrong. It will get unhappy. Just feed it another Snack and then you can keep going with your tamagotchi's happy life. Also, don't just do it for fun. Your tamagotchi will get angry, soon annoy you untill you make it fully happy by praising it. I hope I helped.
