why is tamagotchi called connexion in europe?

I believe that "Connexion" would be the European word for Connection.

Yeah, my dictionary says that Connexion means the same as Connection but is the European spelling.

There's different spelling. For example:

Humor vs. Humour

Color vs. Colour

And stuff like that.
