Why do they bother selling fakes on ebay when the sellers know that the customers can buy a real tama which are way cooler than those ripoff ones ???

Because people know that the majority of new tama owners and parents don't know the difference, so they try to make a quick buck and sell people fake tamagotchis. Everyone wishes that fakes would be gone, but that's how people are
