"Wrapping" Stuff on V4?

Okay, I've always wondered this. What the heck does wrapping items do?

I think that when you connect to another Tamagotchi, they will recieve the present wrapped.

Does it matter what version the tama is connecting to to receive the present?

Like, if I wrapped something on a v4 and connected it to a v3 would the v3 get the present?

i believe you can send the wrapped present to any version.

(i send items between my v4 & v4.5 often)

Yeah, I think you can send them to the versions that the Tamagotchi is able to connect to.

But only for items that are on both versions.
