If your team is still first gen or legendaries, you aren't all that good, are you? By the time you get near the league, you should have spent some time doing some breeding for the higher generations. My team consists of almost all 4th gens, and by the time they all hit 100, I'll start busting out the 5th gens and raising them, then passing down the genes.
