Sun stained tama shells

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I bought an old tamagotchi angel, the package must have been stored at a sunny place, the shell has a little bit yellow discoloration from one side. Its minimal but I'd like it better without discoloration. (I know, i have ODC^^)

Does anybody know how i could remove the sun discoloration?

I currently try to cover the area with a hydrogen proxide 3% damp cloth.

In reality it's worse like in the picture:

Ok, forget about this one. This Tamagotchi angel has sadly a corroded battery contact, it wont work at all. :'-(

Since the shell is pink there is not really any way to remove the discolouration without bleaching it. If you want to try it, try retrobiting.

Also, battery corrosion is super easy to fix. You just need some vinegar or rubbing alcohol, maybe a nail file if it's really bad.

I already wiped with vinegar and also tried alcohol, i even tried to scratch off corrosion with a screwdriver. It still does not work.

It is the metal of the contact that is corroded and that cant be wiped off.

A nail file? I somehow can not imagine how to do that in this case:

You could try sanding off a thin layer using sandpaper or a melamime sponge, though it may not work if the the colour change has affected a deep layer of the plastic. Jhud has the right idea, you'd just have to unscrew the tama to get to the contacts.

I have saved a BADLY corroded Digimon v2 that has the same EXACT battery contacts and yes, nail file is the only thing that saved it. You just have to unscrew it. Don't be afraid to do it, I mean, if it doesn't work as is, what's the danger here?

Hi, i recently decided to re visit my old Tamagotchi ID L due to like an overload of stress (Its my first tama in my current collection of 3) and found it extremely yellowed?
I've tried the rubber/eraser method and baking soda scrub method but they havent worked at all (ignore the dent in my tama rip), im gonna buy creme developer soon enough but i still dont know what else to do?
ive briefly looked over methods that require u to soak plastic in different solvents and stuff but i dont know how to take apart my tama and really dont want to stuff it up completely?
i was just wondering what other methods i could try? my worry is that because its purple, if i try these methods it'll whiten my tamagotchi and get rid of the purple which is something i definitely dont want.
      Please help me

Hi, I recently got a used pink Tamagotchi P's and it has some yellow discolouration. I tried the method using benzoyl peroxide cream and it helped a little but there is still some yellow. I have seen videos of people restoring games consoles with hydrogen peroxide cream. Before I try I wanted to ask, has anyone else tried it? Is it safe or would it be to harsh for the plastic? I really do not want to damage my Tamagotchi.

Hi! I bought a Tama V4.5 (white with flowers) online but unfortunately it is quite yellowed. Has someone ever tried to whiten that yellowed shell? I am quite sceptical with H2O2 because of the flowers on the front which would probably fade away, too.
The last post to that topic is already 8 years old, maybe there is someone who has a new idea to „fix“ that problem

Hello, all! I have a Tamagotchi with a white shell that is yellowed with age. It is not just in spots, but the entire shell is more yellow than white. I know this for sure because I removed the sticker on the back, revealing a bright white rectangle that had not been affected. How can I clean the shell?
