Whimsical's ON log (first-timer tama log)

Recommended Posts

Finding a nice girl for ding dong wasn't easy. I took to proposing to random characters in the app, the first three of whom rejected poor ding dong probably on account of his cabbage-like hue and questionable fashion sense. It's not easy being green.

spacer.png

spacer.png

"anata to kekkon dekinaiyo" (I can't marry you.)

Eventually we came across a tama who would have him,

spacer.png

"nakayoku shiite hoshii no" (I want us to get along)

Soon Ding dong was looking forward to being a proud father

spacer.png

Welcome jojo!

spacer.png

I didn't realise that ding dong's greenness would persist into the family tree. ūüėē¬†does that mean his colour can be expressed in his offspring?

spacer.png

Jojo soon became a marshmallow ballerina like her grandmother, bob, with green and gold head accessories. Her pet is also a fish, but unlike ding dong's Hootie, this fish isn't just stupid, it's completely vacant real estate in the brain department. I have named it "doink." I don't expect it to last long.

spacer.png

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures of jojo!

What would've been cooler is if you could change the music (at least with some limitations). Mine would be Magia from Madoka Magica, instrumental:

I'm still loving documenting my time with my tama but I returned to work today after the holidays and have less time, so my logs will probably be a bit shorter.

The day began with Jojo brutally fleecing a bunch of oldies for their money (I found out about the 'leave with parents' feature - since it was new year-ish time both the parents and grandparents gave jojo money)

spacer.png

spacer.png

Jojo evolved into basically a big version of her teen form with Bob's dress. That thing is quite the hand-me-down by now. She was light blue but I dyed her white, because honestly I think I prefer lighter/neutral colours to help her stand out from the background.

spacer.png

Honestly the amount of pets my guys go through is worrying. I think doink lasted the longest. This new lop-eared ghost thing is quite cute and matches Jojo quite well. It's name is Floopy.

spacer.png

I think I got bitten by the bug when it comes to marrying off characters and seeing what combination comes up. I'm pretty sure Jojo will be married soon :3

Sorry that I'm posting so much X3 but I'm fully into the app now lol.

Jojo proved to be very popular in the plaza, I was pretty surprised when two tamas proposed to her. I knew from reddit that you could accept the proposal and not connect the device and therefor not get the egg. This probably all seems very normal to you guys, but for me i'm just laughing at the idea of Jojo being a deadbeat mom and serial bigamist.

spacer.png

spacer.png

At the same time I was trying to find a good husbando for Jojo. I really liked this pink guy (his name is just 'pink guy') and thankfully he consented to getting hitched!

spacer.png

Dink is born!

spacer.png

..aaand immediately goes to bed because it's past 10pm here. I have work tomorrow, but you know, priorities.

spacer.png

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures of Dink!

Bob bleeped at some point, letting me know she was evolving. This kind of surprised me because she'd done nothing all evening except eat and poop, so it made for a nice change.

spacer.png

Bob is now a cotton wool rabbit with pink jewellery and long eyelashes. She also has clothes - I didn't know tamagotchi characters did. I'm sure she'll still poop on the floor, fashion conscious or not.

This are Lovelitchi.

Hi Crazychick, glad you're enjoying it! I don't think I have a secret, i've just been taking photos real close up with my phone camera (but not so close that it blurs the image,) and hosting them from imgur. I have a samsung s7 if that helps at all.

Ok so things are basically moving at a 100mph pace.

Dink grew up and is stILL WEARING THAT GODDAMN DRESSDEEFDGvfebvn

spacer.png

I do think he's sort of cute especially with the apple of his head, but that friggin dress is a curse at this point (I know it's only been like 4 generations but srsly).

Later, Dink ignored the perils of stranger danger, and followed what I can only describe as an LSD trip nightmare beast into another dimension (the star place? observatory? Something like that.)

spacer.png

"don't do drugs kids!"

Anyway Dink's bachelor life came to a screeching halt as I found him a blushing bride, the lovely miss pudding.

spacer.png

Check out miss pudding's twin all like "oh thank god I don't have to marry fuzzy william tell over there"

spacer.png

Anyway this is Dink and miss pudding's son, Joop. Do not ask me where I get these names from, because I don't even know.

spacer.png

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures of Joop!

I have a feeling my logs are going to 100% consist of "my tama grew up and looks like a dingus, here's who married them" type posts

Anyway Joopchi grew up and looks like a dingus

spacer.png

I like the white/yellow/blue colours together but of course he is wearing the "family dress"

This colouration actually reminds me of the two-toned chao from SA2...

spacer.png

This is who married him, can you tell what genes I am interested in? I really want a "w" shaped mouth haha

The whole purpose of these guys is to breed...I feel like i'm just practising tamagotchi eugenics rather than caring for them as pets.. but I guess the game encourages this.

spacer.png

Lemon, who for now has her dad's weird cake topper swirls. This is her pet, Floosie

spacer.png

Don't worry, it won't be long until Lemon joins the next phase of my anti-pink dress breeding programme

Wow, they all really like that dress!

Now I'm starting to see why people refer to certain stubborn traits as curses... :P

i had the same stubborn trait situation for quite awhile, but with lovelitchi's ears instead of body :D

i have heard that the happiness level during the first two stages has a small influence on which body type is inherited, and the care level influences which other traits are inherited, but i feel too guilty trying to take worse care of them on purpose to see if it's true

Okay so..

Not much of note has happened. A new tama was born that I called Chichi. On the advice of Ginjirochi_lover I neglected poor chichi, depriving him of food and attention so that he grew into a weird wiggly blob. Kids these days.

spacer.png

I don't know if how you raise em' as babies has an effect on personality, but chichi was needy. He seemed to call/beep quite often and ran out of happiness faster than my other tamas so far.

That night, I accidentally left the sound on and at around 11:30 when I was trying to sleep, the bloody thing wore me up with crazed beeping. I managed to grab a pic, I guess he was having a nightmare about a smug brick wall and sweaty blue hands.

spacer.png

He grew up and although he did look quite cute, he still had that bloody dress on no matter how he tried to hide it with a giant ribbon.

A reddit user by the name of Lemonsharc kindly came online so I could marry Chichi to their cute dog tama, I'm hoping that by marrying to a completely different body shape I can finally break the dress curse.

spacer.png

It took a few attempts because the app was being glitchy, but eventually they were married.

spacer.png

And Temple was born! (I was watching a down the rabbit hole video on youtube about temple OS as the time which is where the name came from, bit of a hard watch but very interesting.)

Temple seems to have his mum's beret so I hold out hope he'll have her body shape too.

spacer.png

He's already proven his worth, with him I was finally able to get the snow globe for the first time!

spacer.png

Finally a bonus image I snapped at the weekend

spacer.png

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures of Temple!

Okay, sooo, Templechi grew up to become a wall-eyed adult with the same fashion problems as his forbears.

spacer.png

I didn't get many pictures of him, here's one when he married Miss. Apple

spacer.png

And finally

FINALLY

spacer.png

THE DRESS WAS NO MORE

spacer.png

FINALLY GOT RID OF THE DRESS I HAD FROM GEN 1!!!!

This little guy was called Cupar and that was one of the only pics I got of him. He was cute and wall-eyed like his dad. I liked him so much that I kept him for a few days before marrying him to a dog.

spacer.png

spacer.png

This little one is named Lunachi, after Luna, my puppy that I will be picking up in 2 weeks time. Here's a pic of her :3

spacer.png

Until next time!

Lunatchi grew up. She was a dessert head who went on to marry a dog just like her father before her.

spacer.png

Their baby, Dishchi, was a really cute lop-eared girl.

spacer.png

Dishchi was very popular on the app. She had a lot of gentleman friends.

spacer.png

spacer.png

But her heart lay... with another dog. Only this one had a cherry symbiote.

spacer.pngs

Thankfully the offspring, Spoonchi, only inherited her dad's pink napkin, and not his creepy parasitic twin.

spacer.png

Finally, Spoonchi went in on the family tradition and married the BEST DOG YET.

spacer.png

...because I got my first set of TWINS!! Meet Moonchi and Sunchi!

spacer.png

They're different colours so I guess they're fraternal twins? Anyway I love them!

Stay tuned for the continuing adventures of Moonchi and Sunchi!

At this point for me, it's less of a tradition to keep a log than it is to start one. Half of the posts on Tamatalk are just going to be all my unfinished logs! ;A; But not this time, my dear readers. For I have dug out a Tamagotchi version that is very special to me, and with... a lot of hesitation, actually, have started it up for the first time in what feels like forever!
As the title may give away, I am running (and logging!) my pink iD L! Back when I first joined Tamatalk, these were very popular, and also everywhere unlike the listings you see today. I got both my iD Ls - the aforementioned pink version and my now-rare Princess Spacey ver - back in 2013 for less than $100 each, and I'm glad I did because nowadays, oh boy do you have to sell your own soul to get your hands on one mint in box.
Of course, this comes with its own issues - being that I've had these for seven years now, they've accumulated a ton of scratches, which is where most of my hesitation comes from. For those who aren't in the know, colour Tamagotchis - particularly their screens - are highly prone to scratches if you're not careful, and they can show up real easily on the screen as these annoying rainbow-like textures. My 4U and m!xs have managed to stay safe, luckily, but my iD Ls and my precious little P's have not had the same luck nor fortune. And don't even get me started on their front faceplates - I'd be able to actually afford a mint iD L with the amount of scratches they have.
However, it is all cosmetic in the end. And it's not like I'm ever getting a new iD L unless I risk it for a used version, so I may as well take you all down with me. I've got a Pac-Man Anniversary Mini/Nano in the mail right now as we speak, so with a little patience I'll hopefully be able to log it soon!  Let's begin!
      ~*~*~*~*~*~
      iD L
I put some new batteries in a few days ago, and was welcomed by a little Kingyobotchi! For those not in the know, they are the best-care female toddler character on the iD L. I also discovered that my iD L was on its 3rd generation last time I played it - I had previously raised a Kikitchi and an Agetchi, respectively, both of which are bad-care adult characters.
Determined to take good care of my next Tamagotchi, I proceeded to get the next highest-care teenager, Painaputchi - and didn't look at a growth chart, which is extremely rare for me! I ended up raising an adorable little Chamametchi:

I forgot how photogenic the iD L was. You can't even see any of the scratches on it's screen!
(While writing this, I realized I hadn't given Chamametchi a name yet! I searched up the nearest random name generator, and blessed her with the title of London.)
While Chamametchi isn't the... highest care character out there, she's still very cute (and not a teen, strangely). I decided to go for her Tamatomo Stamps - for those who don't have an iD L, every adult 'gotchi has three special likes that cause them to do a cute little animation + give you what's dubbed a Tamatomo Stamp. You earn the last Tamatomo stamp by having your adult-stage Tamagotchi for 72 hours (or, at least 5 years old, if I recall correctly). You can earn any Tamatomo Stamp in any order, and they're a fun little incentive to spend more time with your tama! Plus, it also gets them stamped in the memory book (which is how I discovered the previous tamas I raised), as well as a bonus cutscene when they get married.
Anyway, I decided to go for London's Tamatomo Stamps straight away! We decided to head to the park, as the market was currently being held:

It's Kuchipatchi's mum! What she's doing here, I have no idea.
Items at the market are usually marked down by 30%, so I wanted to get a good deal. I accidentally ended up leaving by way of the C button with London in tow.

It was raining outside when I took this photo! Who knew Tamagotchi Planet had the same weather cycles... and timezone... wait a second.
We decided to visit again later - for now, it was off to the TamaDepa to get something I thought London would like. The hunt for her Tamatomo stamps was on! I rarely search for these without consulting a guide, so there was an exciting factor to our adventure.
I quickly swept into the accessories aisle, and bought London a pair of cat ears! It was time for the moment of truth...

...I mean, she's still happy at least?
Unfortunately, it was not meant to be. If your Tamagotchi's latest item/accessory/food is Tamatomo-worthy, they'd usually start jumping high in the air with hearts everywhere! But London was quite mellow. She still defied gravity in her celebration, though.
I didn't want to stop there, however - maybe an outfit was what London was looking for! We went back to the market again, as outfits can be super expensive:

It's Makiko's mum! ...I just remembered that Makiko's name doesn't end in 'tchi'.
I was running low on money, so we sold off the Tamamori Tree item I got out of the toy seed I planted in London's backyard yesterday. Don't ask.
Anyway, we had enough money to buy London a lovely red kimono:

I forgot how fun it was to dress up your tamas on the iD L...
And thus the moment of truth began once again!

      Guess what happened next.
...And yet it also was not meant to be! Not only had I spent a ton of gotchi points on two outfits that weren't Tamatomo-worthy, now London looked like a weird anime character. She didn't seem to mind though.

One last photo before the post gets too big...
I decided to stop our Tamatomo hunting there for now. I took London to the different locations in the food menu, but none of the meals and snacks there seemed to activate a Tamatomo Stamp... not even the sweetest treats around! ...That, and it ended with me accidentally discovering Chamametchi's least favorite food. By then my pockets were totally empty. I'm sure I'm missing something here... maybe I should be more open to London's tastes and stop assuming that all she likes is pink stuff just by the colour of her ears? The irony is real.
Next post: more stamp hunting! Meeting a Tama-pet at the park enough times to create a bond with them and take them home... I missed those guys on the 4U and m!x, they were useless but I loved them anyway!

I heard on other tamagotchi websites that Tama ON's have rare pets on the Wondergarden version. This was a thing back in the Connection v3.5 days and for good reason. But looking at the full evo chart for the ON there was no new/rare character, so is this a hoax?

      Hey guys!
I've been thinking of getting a tama for a long time now, and one time I just felt like getting a knockoff. Just to see how vpets are like.
      But, speculations..
I mean, why not just get a real one? They're much better than the knockoffs anyway!
Can you guys please help me?
      Thanks~
    • By Twilightgotchi
I should've started this log earlier, but whatever... But at least I have a name for it now!
Seeing as I'm still figuring this log out, the format might switch between a normal log and a roleplay sort of log (the tama and me talking to eachother).
Anyways, I'm on my 23rd gen of tamas now. But meet our current tama, Jazz!

Nothing much happened, mostly because Jazz is a little baby and you can't really do much with them.
      Jazz: Hey!
That's not really an insult. Plus, your only a baby for, like, an hour.
Jazz: I guess.. But.. That doesn't mean I have to like it!
      I guess not.
Jazz ate a lot, and would occasionally play with his bear. Which makes me wonder, where does the toy bear go once your tama becomes a child? You can't see it in the items, but what happens to it?
      Jazz: What?
      Nothing!
For a while, Jazz watched YouTube with me and hopped around his room until he was tired and took a lil nap.

( DISCLAIMER: This story is entirely fictional.)
Once upon a time, in the year 2045...
Tamagotchis were starting to get boring in the world, and Bandai was starting to get desperate. They had to create a new Tamagotchi. One that would get everyone into the craze again.
      So, they created the UltraTama.
A Tamagotchi that had all  of the previous Tamagotchi model features in one.
When they released it, it was a megahit. People absolutely loved them.
      --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There was a girl named Hana who was enjoying her new UltraTama very much. She brought it everywhere, and had fun connecting her device with other people's UltraTamas.
      ( To be continued!~)
