    V3 Password Experimentation

I'd happily accept help with it! It's something I'm really very new to, so I'm still picking up a lot of the basics and figuring out how I want the site to look. Feel free to shoot me a message any time.

    V3 Password Experimentation

Not an update I expected to be giving right now because it happened so quickly, but SA311 and I have cracked the Music Star password algorithm! A basic run down of how they work is included below: A password is 6 decimal digits long, let's say ABCDEF - though this actually represents two...

    Archiving Tamatown

Just quickly double posting here, since I want to make sure these are archived somewhere at least, rather than waiting - so for now the files can be downloaded here. Quite a massive pain that the Internet Archive isn’t accepting them yet, but I’ll make sure they’re uploaded ASAP.

    Archiving Tamatown

Hello! It's been a while. After putting it off for about 3 years, I finally got around to dumping some old browser caches. It's still an ongoing process, so I might have more to update on in the future, but for now it seems like I've probably been able to gather as many files from my old browser...

    V3 Password Experimentation

Just a quick update: after a small breakthrough earlier today, I’ve managed to crack the V6 login passwords. Logout passwords and item passwords are still uncracked but this revelation puts us significantly closer to cracking them. I’ll do another post soon with more information about how they...

    Tamagotchi on MAME

I believe it is, but it’s been a while since I played it - I remember being surprised by how good it looked, though

    Tamagotchi on MAME

I think a lot of it is that not many people have heard of the MAME support yet. I actually played it not too long ago and it wasn’t so bad!

    Tamagotchi on MAME

I’d assume so yeah, as I recall the full data is VERY small indeed, whereas something like a connection version would be a bit larger. Currently some of the discussions surrounding how to dump the Connection versions are suggesting that we might have to take a similar approach for those devices...

    Tamagotchi on MAME

I have indeed; this is one of a very small handful of Tamagotchis that have had code dumps. As I recall this was done optically, so they literally read off the 1s and 0s off the chip rather than finding an exploit to automate reading the data off.

    V3 Password Experimentation

Hi all - after taking a little bit of a break, I decided to have another crack at the V4 login / logout passwords. After a few days I managed to figure out the format of the codes and write a logout password generator: https://www.mamemamelabs.com/v4-logout-password-generator I would like to...

prototype tamagotchi sprites found in sengoku turb F.I.D

Ah yes, the sprites from the patent doc. Interestingly enough, the V1 patent doc also has sprites of the P1-style Masukutchi in place of the Connection series Masktchi. I believe Tarakotchi was also seen using a different idle sprite on the US box art and on the website, too - I often wonder if...

prototype tamagotchi sprites found in sengoku turb F.I.D

I’m pretty sure I do, buuuut it wouldn’t hurt to see them again just in case I’ve lost the images at some point!

prototype tamagotchi sprites found in sengoku turb F.I.D

I’ve been meaning on making some sort of record / archive of each of the places we’ve seen pre-final sprites and prototype designs before, so this does a good job at filling another gap on the Tamagotchi prerelease timeline. Thank you so much for sharing!

    Rarest Tamagotchi?

I'm double posting here, but there's one other especially rare version I want to talk about - I've been searching for this one for quite a while now and I figure with how rare and mysterious this version is, it'll only get found if I start reaching out to people to help me out. For a little...

    Something weird is going on...

Want things to get even weirder? That one on the left is definitely a V1 - the writing on the packaging perfectly aligns with it being a V1, as does the shell design, so... Why does the plastic stick out beneath the logo like on a V2? Well as it turns out, there's some (pretty rare) late V1s...
