This happens because the family list gets full. The more generations you have the old parents and grand parents go away.

Try connecting them a lot. If you send a present they kiss so maybe if you try that. It also depends on their age. They get married at the age of 7. I am not really sure though. Hope i helped. ;)

Well i really do not know what's wrong with your tamagotchi. But when you connect one person is supposed to press the B button. Try it.
