Is there any way that I can turn off my Tama for an extended period of time (not pause it) without losing anything?

It is so faint, that I have to hold my ear up to my tama to hear it...what is this? Does it have anything to do with the batteries? And if so, is there a way for me to change them without losing my pet?

My tama just had a baby today, and she is still around for a while to help take care of it. I was very busy today however, and didnt notice that she pooped before she went to sleep, and I forgot to clean it. Is this going to effect her, or the new baby? ;_;

I heard somewhere that you can brush your pet's teeth, but I have no idea how ;_; My bet gets toothaches often, and I'm afraid that its because I dont brush them.

I know that you punish them when they call you, and dont need anything, but when do you praise them? Also, under what other circumstances would I punish my tama? This morning my tama beeped, and was crying, but her happiness and food bars were full, so I punished her, is this correct?
