Do points/items carry over after your pet dies?

Ive been getting a lot of items, and I was hoping that they carry over after your pet dies, and you get another egg...do they? What about your points? And do they remian after you change your batteries? Thank you! ^.^

Hi! Everything stays with you, but in order for this to happen, you must have a baby and die like that. As for the batteries, I am not sure.
