I'd recommend checking out the wiki page for the characters on the Uni if you haven't already, it describes how to get the characters (along with Tamapets) in good detail. Yeah, so far there's only Pink and Purple. I hope they make some neutral ones in the future.

I checked up on the Arena today and the host said that the Pink Team is trying their best. I wonder if that means they're in the lead? It's a vague statement, but maybe they know something that us in Purple doesn't know haha.

The water has likely damaged the internals. You could open up the Tamagotchi and dry it off, but it sounds like it was exposed to a lot of water and will probably not work again. I'm sorry about your loss. :(

Finally got second place today! I got the boost right at the very end. It worked for me when I started pressing the A button before I crossed it. Might be dumb luck on my part, but it might be worth a try for next time? It seems like you have to do a perfect run of the game to get 1st place.

Debutchi is only on the Mesutchi and Osutchi. A Tama will evolve into one when it becomes overweight. If it doesn't loose weight, it will die the next day.

I'm slowly figuring it out but it's supposed to give you an extra boost of speed if you're successful. Unfortunately for the Purple team I've only done this correctly once and it was on practice mode. You have to be lightning fast, it's really difficult.

What age were your Tamas when this happened? Whenever mine evolves into its child stage this happens for me.

Hey there! The tamas on the Tamagotchi Uni are hardy and easy to take care of. If school is a concern, you can hire a sitter to watch over your pet while you're busy. When it dies it only becomes a ghost before being replaced by a new egg. Hope this helps!
