It seems like it's a food shop, not just a different animation. The channel changes and a picture of a cash register-esque looking thing pops up and says "SALE!" or something like that. The only items are food.

Well it DOES have their "JD" logo on the packaging. Sure, they're using the word "tamagotchi" but some people associate ALL virtual pets with the word "tamagotchi".

They don't really TALK. They just kinda make noises that you associate with words. So one day your dog whimpers and it sounds like "Hello" and you give him a cookie for it, he's going to keep doing it.

I don't think you get growing pains in your back... I mean it's possible but I never heard of that before. The way most people recognize when its happening is if they notice their voice changing/hair beginning to grow in their private places and underarms/a growthspurt.
