I compare Tamagotchis to video games a lot, since they do have a lot in common. Even the cheapest video games that are a year or two old cost around $20. A brand new Tamagotchi is $15, and in most cases I get more hours of use out of them than the $20 video games!

That's weird that they die now... When the old Tamagotchis "died", they hopped their spaceship and went back to Tama Planet. I think it was more about them being unhappy and leaving. But since the new ones have a way to continue the generations, I guess it makes sense for them to really die...

I have to go with the V4. I the V4.5 is just more of the same, so even though it has everything the V4 has, it's not as good in my book. I like to focus on one Tamagotchi at a time, and the whole website interaction plus the education/career options are pretty cool.

I would say my Dragon Quest games collection. I have 11 games from the series, plus lots of strategy guides and extra Dragon Quest stuff from Japan, including a Tamagotchi-like pet that has monsters from the games in it! But to be honest, I'm happy as long as I have my husband. I don't care...

I agree! Pets are for any person of any age! The old Tamagotchis from the 90's were made to be for anyone; that's why they sold so well. By targeting young girls, I think Bandai is missing out this second time around. I'm 23 and my husband and I both like them. He wants to get a new V5 soon. :D

That's really cute. :D I can get that fuzzy feeling too. Sometimes when I'm stuck somewhere, like waiting for the bus, I'll just watch him jump around on the screen for a little while. It can be very relaxing, hehe.
