I stumbled upon a topic in the Seriously Tamagotchi forum. It was telling about how a Tama named Aaron had lived to be 145 tama years old. He died from neglect, not of old age - and I actually found the log of one person who is trying to get a Tama older than that. I decided it would be fun to try that - but I like my Tama's to raise more generations. So I decided, hey...why not try to raise the oldest Angelgotchi? (Ok, ok, Tamagotchi Angel - I have the US version.) You may wonder what the difference is. Well, Angelgotchi can't breed and actually does die of old age. So I'm wondering how long I can keep an Angel going.
The catch is I can't pause, because it has to be actual age. But Angel only has the A-and-C pause mode, so I think I'll most likely be pausing and just not changing the time. I can't take it to school anyway, tamas are banned and anyway Angels are expensive.
Right now I have Angel on what's similar to the egg stage, except it's actually a spaceship, like the death screen for the Tama versions from the 90's. While I wait for her to "hatch" I'll explain Angelgotch, so those of you who don't have one understand what I'm talking about.
First is the screen. It's smaller than the newer ones (the whole tama is actually) and so only has 8 icons. There is a large star and a smaller star in the background. There is no infra-red.
Now the icons. Health Meter's screens are Hunger & Happiness (it actually says "Effort", but whatever), then Age & AP (Angel Power. I will explain this later), and Deed Meter (again, will explain later).
After that is Food. You can feed Pie (meal) or Candy (snack). Candy doesn't work like snacks on the more recent versions, in the way that it doesn't give Happiness / Effort. It gives Angel AP instead. High AP means better characters. More about AP later. Also, sometimes when you feed Angel candy, a bat comes and tries to take it. You have to tap the side of the egg to scare it away.
Then there's Game. There's only one game, like all the 90's tamas. It's the Shooting Stars game, and you press the A or B button to make your Angel jump over them. There are 5, and if you jump over three or more Angel gets a happy heart or two.
Toilet is the same.
Praise is the next icon. Sometimes Angel prays or does good deeds (looks at you and smiles, actually) and you have to praise it. Praising raises the AP. There is no beep when Angel does a good deed or prays, unless it is an adult, but it does poop right after so you know if you missed it. This is also used when Angel goes on a walk (see below).
Medicine is the same.
Light is mostly the same. But if you turn the lights off when Angel is awake, it gets sick or even dies. So I will have to be careful with that one.
Attention is the same.
Sometimes Angel goes on a stroll. There's nothing on the screen (a door on the Japanese ones) and the Attention icon is lit. So you select the Praise icon, press B, and tap on the side of the egg so Angel will come back. It comes back doing special animations, like lifting weights. Depends on the character.
OK, Angel "hatched" while I was typing all this. She is now a Babitchi spirit (Obaketchi 2), like a little blob with a tail and halo. After 80 minutes she will evolve into Maruten, the child stage. I haven't hatched Angel for a while so I don't remember what Maruten looks like. I'll update on that later.
Oh, and I have a V4 going right now too. I will write in blue for it and regular black for Angel.
I have the Ocean Swirls V4 (or something like that. Blue with white ocean waves on the side...that's how it looks) and it's currently housing Generation 1. It's a girl named Gemti (like my username ) who was a Mohitamatchi in her child stage and is now 1 year old, a Young Dorotchi. She has 2 training bars, and skill points are 5/8/3. I don't like raising skill heehee.
I will try to write again tomorrow, or whenever Angel evolves.
