in the animal crossing gamecube version, how do you get different types of fruit?

Sometimes, if you talk to people, they will have you play a game, trade them stuff, or pay money for a rare piece of fruit they have that doesn't grow in your town. Or sometimes, if you're luckier, they will say they picked a lot of a certain type of fruit and they picked too much and they want to give some to you. That's how you get fruit that doesn't grow in your village, if that's what you're asking. Then plant it by digging a hole with a shovel, which you can buy in Tom Nook's store for 500 bells, and bury the fruit in a place where it has space to grow, away from other trees and structures. If you want to know how to get fruit off a tree, go up to a tree and press the A button to shake it. It may not work if you have a tool in your hands at the time.

Do you mean Animal Crossing or Animal Crossing Wild World? Because, for Wild World you will have to travel to get new fruit. Also with Animal Crossing. Remember not to sell/eat them all! Plant another fruit tree
