What do you mean avatars? You mean the pictures on the right top corner of posted messages?

You have to use a editing program.

I either use MS Paint, get a picture and edit it with Paint Shop Pro 7, or I just get one out of the Tamagotchi Art Gallery. Paint Shop Pro 7 is a download from jasc.com, to let you know if you are curious.
