Also, about the "reset" button. The first thing the instructions say is IMPORTANT: If this game malfunctions, push in RESET or try new batteries. NOTE: this will not erase any pet data.
You also push in reset after replacing the batteries.
I guess "reset" is like on a computer - it's the equivalent of rebooting (turning it off then on again.) Since normally the handheld game does not have an off mode, just a screen blanking sleep mode, "reset" restores it to normal functioning.
What I am wondering is whether "reset" triggers the Giga Pet logo screen and the message "do you want a new pet?" I have gotten this message a few times while trying to establish a link (& I will post in that topic when I'm done here) & if you say "no" it then says "Welcome home Puffy!" (or Tommy or whatever your pet's name is) and the pet is in its house.
Anyway, if anyone has replaced the batteries on a handheld Giga Pet game, I hope you will post of your experience here!
