I recently saw some American adverts, and when it said what time it was on it said something like 8 7 central. In my country we just put 5:00PM or 3:30PM or whatever. But this I absolutely did not get at all! What does it mean?

When they say it like that, it shows the time zone.

For example:

8/ 7 central. It'll show at 8 if you're in the eastern time zone, and 7 if you're in the central.

Thanks, that makes sense then. For a moment I thought America had different numbers...

i think every place has think same numbers japan4eva.

In the U.S, we have four different time zones. Eastern, Central, Mountain, and Pacific. If something is on at 8 in eastern, it will be on at 7 in Central, 6 in mountain, and 5 in pacific.
