gaa! how do you connect tamagotchi?

how do you connect version 2 tamagotchi connection tamas? i can't seem to get it, and i want to connect to other tama!

you go to the heart in the top right corner of the tamagotchi's and then you press B and then you select version 1 or version 2 and then when you have selected that you put the infrared connection (the red thing on the top) together. if you select version 2 then you get to pick what you do

i tried that, but it still isn't working! HELP!!

i finally got it! both heart buttons are pushed and are scanning then you push the B button twice on both! thanx for the help!
