Getting a girl or a boy from the MM

Okay, so, I've had five generations of boys in my v4 now. D: I want a girl so I can try to get some new characters.

Alright, so, what do you need to do to get a girl from the matchmaker? I know the book opening/closing thing, but I don't know if that still works with the v4. And if that works, I dunno if book open = boy or book open = girl. D: And there's that thing with pressing A or B and.. etc..

Can anyone help me out here?

As far as I'm concerned, there is no known way of how to pick your gender. You'll have to keep trying and hope you get lucky!

or u can make different tamagotchi mate,
