The same thing happens with me, and I have a cable internet connection. Maybe it takes longer to load the first time you visit it?

to enter a code you go to tama town and for entering the user name you have to enter the same user name on your tamagotchi - not the pets name but the user name -

then when you get a code go to games/activites go down to password clivk the b button just like the shop and click the a button to change the number and the b button to go to a new column
