Help! my tamagotchi wants a friend what should i do?

You need to connect of course 
Here's how if you don't know: With the "A" button (the one on the right), move it until a heart on the top bar lights up. Click on it. Depending on your version, you'll either go straight to connect, get a menu saying, "V1 or V2" and if you have a V3, it'll say, "V3 or Others". When you connect with another tamagotchi, they get added to your friend list. The more you connect with that tama, the higher the friendship gets.
