you dont, you only get the skill points your teacher "specializes" in.
Turtle: intelligence
flower: fashion
weird thingy: social
you can choose them...
here's how
when you get the ! for school, once the turtle teacher appears, press A to change the teacher into the flower teacher, A again for the weird thingy teacher.
