HOW DO YOU CONNECT WITH OTHER INFARED DEVICES?

I know it's possible form Tamagotchi connections to connect with other devices that use infared techology. But I was wondering excatly HOW to do it. For instance, if I wanted to connect with my TV remote, what would I press and how? If you know how to do stuff like this, please post.

to connect with a remote or something it has to have the same speed of IR flashes as tamagotchi. i have a remote that makes it say fail. is a panasonic vcr remote.

Well, I have tried to connect with many household items, but it never works. What I do is I usually select Version 2 and present and I push the middle button over and over again. If that doesn't work, I select Version 1 and press the middle button continuously.
