how do you gain years?

how does your tamagotchi gain years i thought every time it evolved or w/e it gained a year mines still lvl 0 and in its teen stage???

does anyone know?? is there a cirtain thing you have to do??

No, there isn't a certain thing that you have to do. Just wait patiently and eventually it will gain an year...
