The latest version I have is a V3, however, I assume the connection process should be similar. Connect them until there are four hearts on their friendship screens. Then, when they grow up and reach a certain age, they should marry.
At the bottom of the screen is the smiley face icons, when you get them both to five (I know that the amount is five in the v5, but I'm unsure about the v6 since I haven't let them play together as much as I should have.) But when they both reach five it should be the same, just choose Marry instead of Game and see what happens

There probably will be different amounts of smiley faces when you connect them (because you get 5 smiley faces on the v5 and 4 really happy faces on the v6), but I guess they just marry like one day when you connect and they decide to have twins, but they probably won't have the partner on each one, just a baby.
